SO WHAT’S HAPPENING ON THE RENTAL MARKET

The latest figures on the average rent paid by new tenants in February 2026 reveal a market that is no longer moving in one direction across the UK. Instead, regional differences are becoming clearer, with some areas still seeing modest growth while others, particularly in the South, are starting to soften.   Starting in Scotland, the average rent for new tenancies now stands at £1,135 per month, up 0.4% on February 2025. Northern Ireland shows a similar pattern, with rents averaging £1,072, also 0.4% higher year on year.   Across northern England, the picture is mixed. The North East has an average rent of £901, a modest 0.2% increase, while Yorkshire & Humber has risen slightly faster

‘THE SOURCE OF KNOWLEDGE IS EXPERIENCE’   What has modelling, Metropolitan Police Service and fashion retail got in common with selling a house?   The answer is they all helped me fine tune my skills as an estate agent.   My first experience of buying a property was when I bought my first property in Kew, Richmond. Thankfully it was with a very experienced estate agent friend. Little did I know where this would lead?   Since January 2000 I have been learning and assisting clients in a multitude of scenarios amounting to millions of pounds worth of

Teen Spirit

“It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.”  – E. E. Cummings     Seeing my boys reach adolescence has brought me a whole new appreciation and understanding. Their generation is experiencing a completely different world from when I was their age, and I feel compelled to support, protect, encourage and enable them wherever I can.   Parenting is the hardest but most important and most rewarding role. Any parent will tell you that.   But seeing them step into adolescence has brought a fresh set of lessons to learn – for them and for me.   Understanding

A worthwhile connection

“Success isn’t about how much money you make; it’s about the difference you make in people’s lives.” Michelle Obama   Business networking is such a buzzword these days.   I’ve always found the entire idea and concept pretty tedious. Which is bizarre as I’m such a people person! I love to meet new people, build new connections, forge friendships and strengthen my offering to my community of clients.   But I have been unfortunate to have been stuck speaking with people who didn’t interest me in places I didn’t like on more occasions than I’d like. So, I steered
