Merry Christmas From My Family To Yours

“Christmas isn’t just a day. It’s a frame of mind.”

― Valentine Davies, Miracle on 34th Street

In the whirlwind of activities and to-do lists that define this time of year, it’s all too easy to get caught up in the rush and overlook that true festive spirit.

But it’s important that we don’t let it pass us by. I believe fervently that we should make the time to slow down and appreciate the joy and celebration that comes with this time of year.

I can relate to a building workload and an evergrowing list of parental duties, but it doesn’t take much to soak up the essence of Christmas. Try taking a stroll down your bustling local high street – or sparkly Regent Street, soaking up the buzz of shoppers and twinkling Christmas lights. It’s difficult NOT to feel festive ✨

Another way to immerse yourself in the season is by participating in community events. Attending a carol concert, volunteering with a local charity or helping out at your school’s festive fundraiser during this time can be incredibly rewarding and a way to affirm the real reason for the season.

It’s a time of year that is sadly synonymous with loneliness for millions around the UK. It’s something we should all keep in mind.

Can you invite a neighbour round for dinner one evening?

Can you sit and spend some time with the elderly in your community?

My Favourite Part of Christmas

As it draws closer to Christmas Day, I look forward to the simple pleasures that come with this time of year, like taking longer, more leisurely walks through the wintry landscapes of Richmond Park with my beloved dog, Rosa. Plus, I always enjoy extra time with my boys and look forward to catching up on some much-needed family time, which is hands-down my favourite way to spend the season. You can see some photos of our get-togethers above and a short clip of our competitive family antics below!

Before you log off, put the out-of-office on and hang up the school bags for a couple of weeks, I’d like to wish you a very Merry Christmas. My hope is that this season brings you the same joy and opportunity for reflection and connection.

Thank you for your support this year, it means a lot.

All the best,

Sara
