Love Where You Live

Whilst we’re surrounded by the topic of love in the month of February, I felt compelled to share my love of Richmond and the surrounding areas.

South West London has been my home for many years. There are so many beautiful homes that make my job a true pleasure. But beyond the homes, this area means so much more to me.

Richmond has been the home that my boys have grown up in. The community that we have become a firm part of. And I feel incredibly grateful to be here.

Why Everyone Loves Richmond

The Borough of Richmond is an extensive hub for families who are passionate about sport, creativity and education.

It’s a place where local businesses thrive through the support of a loyal community.

And, of course, it is a place of outstanding natural beauty. Aside from the fact that half of the borough is parkland, it is notorious for its wildlife, architecture, gardens and the longest stretch of the River Thames running through.

Tourists flock to Richmond and Twickenham for the rugby, historical buildings and landmarks and connections to the Royal Family. And apparently, for the Ted Lasso tours too!

Family Life in Richmond

Families head here for the outstanding schools and array of extracurricular activities. I couldn’t think of a better place for my boys to grow up. From Scouts to Police Cadets to a wide variety of sports, our community is a safe space for them to explore who they are and who they want to be.

My 12-year-old enjoys playing (and watching) rugby, so we spend plenty of time at Richmond Rugby Club, which is also where I meet and connect with other business owners. (More on this another time…)

The Scouts community has become one that I have supported and provided sponsorship to for several years because I believe it is an important foundation for children to learn a multitude of skills and qualities, including the importance of contribution.

A Richmond Lifestyle

Aside from the advantages for my kids, Richmond offers a vibrant shopping and social scene. The high street is dotted with gorgeous independent boutiques and plenty of cafes, pubs, and restaurants serving a variety of cuisines. It’s not often that I meet with friends for dinner, but when we do, we’re spoilt for choice.

I spend most of my free time surrounded by nature in Richmond Park – London’s largest Site of Special Scientific Interest and a National Nature Reserve. My English Sheepdog, Rosa needs a lot of time outdoors. And so, she provides the perfect excuse for enjoying lovely long walks through Richmond Park. Spotting the red and fallow deer is something I’ll never tire of, coupled with the stunning sunrises and sunsets that grace the landscapes as we walk.
